Ok, ok, it's not as bad as it looks. I believe the following should help explain:
Turns out my blood type is in heavy demand here, so I rolled up my sleeve this afternoon. I checked that it was a new needle of course, and I was done in about 5 minutes. They only draw 350 ml here - about 2/3 as much as a unit in the US. I almost said, "Take two!"
