Tailor-made Suits!
One thing we neglected to blog about from Chiang Mai is our experience purchasing tailor made suits. Don's friend Paul recommended his tailor "Fashion King" in Chiang Mai. We went in with Paul and were quite impressed, so we returned the next day and ordered Don 2 suits, 1 sport coat (in tweed, naturally, in light of his burgeoning academic career), and 5 button down shirts. And then Kate started her order...5 suits and 8 shirts. We spent more in that clothing store than either of us had ever spent in one setting for clothes...but the end result is quite worth it! Imagine a suit tailor made for you - for cheaper than an off-the-rack number? Kate's pretty happy with the tailor made shirts, the first button down shirts that fit her correctly! And since she will have to wear a suit every day at her new job, this investment was quite worth it. Right now all of our suits are being shipped via Thai Post to Boston, cross your fingers that they make it! Check out a fitting photo:
